“Physical therapy for injuries is often mistakenly associated with the phrase “no pain, no gain”. However, this is a misconception as pain can cause muscle contraction and guarding, inflammation and restricted range of motion. This can lead to the continuation of the pain cycle and the development of inappropriate movement patterns that can result in further injury. Additionally, chronic inflammation can weaken connective tissue and cause the formation of scar tissue. To avoid these issues, our physical therapy programs are designed to minimize pain and promote safe and effective recovery.
